About Dreamz on Fire

Dreamz on Fire exists because money shouldn't feel like a mystery. We help people build the financial skills and systems that no one ever sat them down and taught the kind of practical, real-life money knowledge that turns stress into confidence and confusion into a plan

Our Mission

We believe financial education is the key to freedom. Not freedom in some abstract sense, freedom to make the career move you want, to support your family without fear, to build the life you've actually been dreaming about instead of just getting by. Dreamz on Fire was built on the idea that anyone, at any age, can learn to manage money well if they have the right guidance.

Who We Help

Dreamz on Fire works with:

Adults who never got a financial education and are ready to catch up

  • People navigating a major life transition divorce, a new job, a growing family who need a financial plan that reflects their new reality

  • Teens and young adults building money habits before they head into adulthood

  • Anyone who wants a coach in their corner instead of another app to ignore

How Are We Different?

A lot of financial advice is generic: a budgeting app, a blog post, a rule of thumb that doesn't account for your actual life. Dreamz on Fire is built around one-on-one coaching, because real change happens when a plan is tailored to your income, your goals, and your circumstances, with someone checking in to help you actually follow through.

Founded by Crystal Rigley Janis

Dreamz on Fire was founded by Crystal Rigley Janis, a former high school economics teacher turned financial coach, after more than a decade spent teaching personal finance to students and watching how much of a difference the right guidance makes. Meet Crystal Rigley Janis

Crystal Rigley Janis is the founder of Dreamz on Fire, a financial coaching practice built on a simple belief: nobody should have to guess their way through money. For over 15 years, Crystal Rigley Janis has been teaching people, first teenagers, now adults of every age how to take control of their finances without the shame, jargon, or overwhelm that usually comes with it.

From the Classroom to Dreamz on Fire

Before founding Dreamz on Fire, Crystal Rigley Janis spent seven years as a high school teacher, weaving personal finance lessons into her AP Macroeconomics classes and reaching more than 240 students a year. In 2019, she went further and built Personal Finance: Dream, Plan, Execute, Thrive, a full year-long elective combining money skills, goal-setting, and career exploration.

Her work in the classroom didn't stay quiet for long. Crystal Rigley Janis and her students were featured by ABC News alongside California's State Superintendent of Public Instruction, covered by Berkeleyside for her role pushing personal finance toward becoming a graduation requirement, and profiled by Sisa-In Magazine in South Korea as an example of financial literacy done right.

Why did Crystal Rigley Janis Start Dreamz on Fire?

In 2024, Crystal Rigley Janis left the classroom to bring the same clarity to a bigger audience, people who never got a financial education growing up and are tired of feeling behind. Dreamz on Fire was built to close that gap: real coaching, real accountability, and money systems that actually fit a real life.

Today, Crystal Rigley Janis works one-on-one and in small groups with people ready to stop avoiding their bank account and start building toward something. Whether it's a first budget, a plan for supporting a family through a major life change, or getting career and salary confidence dialed in, her approach stays the same — practical steps, zero judgment, and a coach in your corner the whole way.
